Breathable air tightness corner tape – Ampacoll XT Double Slit – 60mm x 25m
Ampacoll XT Double Slit breathable airtightness corner tape is:-
- a 60mm wide universal, single sided, tear-resistant, acrylic adhesive tape.
- split to allow either a 12mm, 30mm or 48mm layer to be removed from the backing.
- perfect for taping internal corners around windows/doors and in OSB boards.
- highly adhesive and suitable for bonding all types of membranes as well as boards.
- suitable for winter application down to -5 degrees C.
- resistant to exposure for up to 4 months.

Where is it used?
- Ampacoll XT Double Slit can be used internally or externally and has been optimised to withstand the more challenging conditions found externally.
- Ampacoll XT Double Slit can be used for taping all types of window/door frames, timber boards such OSB, Ply, MDF and pre-primed wood fibre boards.
- The breathable tape is suitable for taping all types of internal and external penetrations in breathable membranes and vapour control membranes.
How is it used?
- Surfaces should be clean, dry and free of dust before the tape is applied.
- When taping around window/door frames, cut tape to the required length for each edge of the frame.
- Fold the length of tape along the split in the backing, 12mm for windows/doors and 30mm for internal corners.
- Peel off the narrowest backing strip (12mm, if bonding to window/door frames) and firmly stick to window frame.
- Once in place, the rest of the backing can be removed to allow bonding to the reveal of the opening.
- On lightly textured boards like OSB a roller should be used to firmly press the tape into position.
- If you are taping to concrete/masonry or wood fibre boards the Ampacoll Primax Primer should be applied and left to dry first. This ensures that the tape will stick properly to these surfaces.
How much will you need?
- Each roll of Ampacoll XT Double Slit tape is 60mm wide and 25m long.
- For taping OSB boards allow 4-5m per m2 of wall/roof.
- For membranes allow 1-2m per m2.
