Flashing profile – UdiREINFORCEMENT

UdiREINFORCEMENT flashing profile is:-

  • an easy to use, PVC profile for joining thin layer renders and metal flashings.
  • a simple way to create a junction over roof abutments, preventing thermal bridges and ensuring weather tightness.

Here you can see the UdiREINFORCEMENT Flashing Profiles used to enable a lead flashing to be installed over a Cambrian slate roof. The profiles are rendered in to the surface of the wood fibre boards and allow the lead to be simply slotted up into them. This very neat detail is also extremely weather tight. Product overview

Where is it used?

  • UdiREINFORCEMENT flashing edge profile is used at junction of roofs and walls, such as porches, lean-to roofs or flat roofs.
  • The above picture shows the back of the profile and the slot into which the flashing sits.
  • The profiles can be used with any thin layer render system such as acrylic, silicate, silicone or polymer renders.

How is it used?

  • UdiREINFORCEMENT flashing edge profile should be installed prior to the main render and mesh.
  • Cut the beads to length and then adhere the bead to the substrate by applying a generous layer of render and seating the bead on it.
  • Stainless steel screws can also be used to hold the bead in place whilst the render sets.
  • Once in position the metal flashing can be inserted up into the slot at the back of the UdiREINFORCEMENT flashing edge profile and fixed in position.
  • The main render can then be applied and finished up to the drip edge on the profile.

How much will you need?

Each length of UdiREINFORCEMENT flashing edge profile is 2.0m long and the pieces can be joined end to end, so simply measure the total running amount required.
