Breathable render for concrete blockwork – Baumit KZP 65
Baumit KZP 65 lightweight render is:-
- a light weight, pale grey, vapour permeable (breathable), lime based render.
- an excellent base coat render for new and existing dense block work or masonry.
- great for use under Baumit decorative topcoats.
- also suitable as a top coat render for interior and exterior.
Product overview
Where is it used?
- Baumit KZP 65 is used internally and externally as a base coat on to most types of dense masonry (λ ≥ 0.11 W/mK) such as concrete block, shuttered concrete, and dense clay partition blocks.
- It can also be used as a 2-coat render system for interior and exterior work and also in wet and tiled areas.
How is it used?
- Baumit KZP 65 should be mixed by a plaster whisk with clean tap water to a smooth consistency and then applied by hand or it can be spray applied by machine.
- Externally it needs to be applied at a minimum thickness of 15mm in one pass and at a maximum of 20mm per coat.
- It can also be used internally where it is applied at a typical thickness of 10mm.
- Baumit KZP 65 can then be applied as a top coat at 3mm if required or other finishes from the Baumit range can be applied.
How much will you need?
Baumit KZP 65 has a density of 1.4kg per mm per m² (1mm thickness of plaster over 1m²). Each 35kg bag of Baumit KZP 65 will cover up to 1.6m² at 15mm thickness or 2.5m² at 10mm thickness.

Setting times vary with temperature and humidity but in the summer the product will usually stiffen enough to finish in a few hours and set hard overnight. In winter stiffening may be extended to more than one day with hardening more than two days.
