Ampatop Seal weldable breathable roofing membrane is:-

  • an extremely robust, double sided, heat or solvent weldable, breathable roofing membrane.
  • suitable for roof pitches down to 5°, enabling very low pitch slate or tile roofs.
  • a great way to enable breathable, flat roof constructions.
  • anti-slip and suitable for up to 3 months weather exposure.
  • guaranteed for 10 years.

Material in action. This image shows the Ampatop Seal membrane being used on a low pitch roof. Numbers 1 and 2 are the Ampacoll LiquiSeal and LiquiSeal Applicator, used for bonding the laps in the membrane. Number 3 is the Ampatop SealStripe which is a strip of the membrane used for forming around penetrations, such as roof lights. Number 4 is the Ampacoll TubeSeal which is a purpose made collar for sealing around any vent pipes or other protrusions and finally, number 5 is the Ampatop SealEdge eaves roll which is a UV resistant roll suitable for edging the membrane along the eaves. Product overview

Where is it used?

  • Ampatop Seal is used on very shallow pitch roofs over wood fibre sarking boards, down to 5° pitch to ensure a fully watertight, breathable seal is formed.
  • This product can also be used down to a 10° pitch without any sarking board support.

How is it used?

  • Ampatop Seal weldable breathable membrane is designed to be used in very low pitch (flat) roof structures.
  • All joints should overlap by at least 100mm and all joints must be welded with Ampacoll LiquiSeal adhesive.
  • Roof pitches between 5° and 10° must use a sarking board to support the membrane and prevent pooling.

How much will you need?

Each roll of Ampatop Seal breathable membrane is 30m long and 1.5m wide. It covers an area of 45m2 including overlaps.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to tape the joints?

All the laps must be sealed but this would be with either the solvent welding glue or by heat welding the laps

How long can I leave it exposed?

This membrane is very UV stable and can withstand up to 3 months of weathering without deterioration. Beyond this the sun can begin to degrade the strength and weather resistance of the membrane.
